Officers responded to the Kangaroo Store, located at 1517 Idlewild Avenue regarding a battery. A 20 year old male reported he pulled up to the gas pumps. When he got out of the car, Laura Lackey, 43, a friend of his ex-mother in law came up to him screaming at him. While screaming at him, Lackey slapped him in the face. the victim had a bright red mark on his face.

A person who wa also at the pumps confirmed the victim had merely pulled up to the gas pumps when Lackey walked over and slapped him. After being slapped, the victim got back into the vehicle and called police.

Lackey was charged with Battery and issued a notice to appear in court.
