An officer was sitting at the intersection of Center Street and Roberts Street when he heard tires squealing to the north of his location just after midnight. He saw a white Ford Explorer driving south on Roberts Street with the rear end fish tailing from side to side. As the vehicle passed the officer he could see the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The officer stopped the vehicle on Roberts Street at Walnut Street.

 

When the officer approached the driver, he could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver's breath. The driver's eyes were also bloodshot and watery. when the driver spoke, his speech was slurred.

 

When asked if he had been drinking, the driver said he had a couple of beers.

 

The driver was given a series of field sobriety exercises which he failed to successfully complete. After the sobriety exercise the officer asked the driver to rate himself on a scale of one to ten on how intoxicated he thought he was. The driver said he was a three.

 

The driver, 27 year old Erik Males-Tuthill Buhr was arrested for DUI and booked into jail. An intoxilyzer test showed his blood alcohol concentration was .187% and .198%.
