At 2:46 am an officer was driving south on Orange Avenue when he saw a silver Scion ahead of him which crossed the center line twice before turning west onto Bayard Street. The vehicle drove another block to Palmetto Avenue where it turned south and drove on the center line until it reached Martin Luther King Boulevard where the officer initiated a traffic stop.
When the officer spoke with the driver, 34 year old Jason Alan Dukes, he could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Duke's breath. He also noticed Duke's face was flushed and his eyes were bloodshot and watery. Dukes admitted to drinking, saying he had just left Hardees.
Dukes was given a field sobriety exercise which he could not successfully complete. Dukes was arrested for DUi and booked into jail. Once in jail Dukes was given an Intoxilyzer test. the results were .157% and .147%.
