At 8:30 pm an officer responded to Highland Apartments due to several reports of shots being fired. The officer spoke with a witness who said he had recently broken up with his former live-in boyfriend and was staying with a friend in the apartment complex. His former boyfriend, 21 year old Corey Bryant Glass, had come by and they had spoken outside about their relationship. Just before Glass left, another man came outside and stood beside his former boyfriend.
When Glass drove just a few feet away from the men, he pointed a 20 gauge shotgun through the driver's side window and fire it into the air before leaving the complex. The witness said he had seen it on the front seat while they had been talking and it had been a Christmas present from Glass' grandfather.
A B.O.L.O. was issued throughout Clay County for the vehicle. a short while later, Glass was spotted by an officer with the Orange Park Police Department. the officer stopped Glass and subsequently arrested him for an outstanding Duval county warrant charging him with Domestic Violence Battery.
Once booked into jail, the GCSPD officer interviewed Glass. Glass said he had displayed the gun to one of his ex-boyfriend's friends as Glass was being threatened by him. While displaying the shotgun it accidentally went off.
Glass was charged with Discharging a Firearm from a Vehicle Within 1000 Feet of a Person. The shogun and spent round were also recovered.
