At 10:49pm, an officer responded to the 1400 block of Palmer Street in reference to a theft in progress. The caller advised there was a male subject stealing from a silver car parked in a driverway. Upon arrival the officers checked the property and heard someone jump a fence. The officers observed a male subject running east bound on Walnut Street. The male was apprehended in a wooded area near the intersection of Vermont Street and Walnut Street. The male, Nicholas Hollifield, 30, of Green Cove Springs, was taken into custody. Officers noticed that two tires/rims of the silver Honda had been removed.

Hollifield admitted to removing the tires from the vehicle in an attempt to steal them. Hollifield was placed under arrest for Grand Theft and Resisting Arrest Without Violence and booked into jail.
