At 6:07pm, an officer while conducting a separate investigation an employee at Wachovia Bank approached the officer and stated Christine Touchton, 36, of Green Cove Springs, was inside the bank inquiring about a check that she deposited.

The officer made contact with Touchton inside the bank who stated she had a friend that needed a check cashed, which was in excess of $300.00. Touchton stated she drove a friend to the bank to deposit the check. Touchton stated her friend told her the check was his check and he needed her to sign the back of the check and deposit the check in her account. Touchton admitted to looking at the names on the front of the check prior to depositing it and knew it was in the name of the friend's parents, not the friend. Touchton and her friend both signed the back of the check.

Contact was made with the victim who stated he did not give anyone permission to cash his check. Touchton was placed under arrest and booked into jail for Grand Theft.
