Just before 2:00am, an officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Bayard Street on a beige Cadillac. Contact was made with the driver, Kenneth Brown, 35, of Palatka. Upon making contact the officer was able to smell alcohol coming from Browns breath. Browns eyes were bloodshot and watery. Brown stated to the officer that he did not have his license with him but he had his registration. The officer noticed there was a half consumed bottle of Red Stripe in the center console. Brown was asked if the beer was his. He stated it was. Brown stated he had just left Club Christopher's.
Brown was asked to perform field sobriety exercises to which Brown agreed to participate in. Brown failed each exercise. Brown was placed under arrest for DUI and he was booked into jail. The results of Brown's breath test were .077 and .070.
