OFFICER OF THE QUARTER
APRIL - JUNE 2009
Officer James “Mel” Acres

Congratulations on your selection as the Officer of the Quarter by your fellow employees. Over the past quarter you have displayed a professional, positive and friendly attitude to all you have come in contact with, while demonstrating your ability to multi-task while continuing your excellent work as a patrol officer. Specifically, this past quarter, you took on the additional task of planning and organizing the first ever “Teen Summit Golf Tournament” held at the Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club. Through your dedication, and teamwork, you were instrumental in the pre-registering of the golfing teams, securing door prizes, developing the flyers and pamphlets, the printing of hole sponsorship signs, development and distribution of the players gift bags, and the re-planning of the entire event, once it was determined that bad weather forced the cancelation of the event on the original date.
Through your efforts, the first “Teen Summit Golf Tournament” held at the Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club, was a tremendous success, with numerous community residents enjoying their golfing experience by voicing their pleasure with the event and further wanting to be included in next year’s event. Additionally, after all outstanding bills were addressed; the event you both organized and directed cleared over three-thousand ($3,000.00) dollars for the children of Green Cove Springs and Clay County. Your unselfish and dedicated work ethic is to be commended and is recognized by your fellow employees.
It is with much pride and pleasure that I am afforded the opportunity of awarding you “Officer of the Quarter”. Your dedication, loyalty and positive attitude, project the true S.P.I.R.I.T. of the Green Cove Springs Police Department.
Congratulations,
